Lodge tempered glass lids

Lodge has recently started selling tempered glass lids with their cast iron pots.

Tempered glass means it doesn't break as easily, and if it does break, there are no sharp edges.

These lids are dishwasher safe, and you get the convenience of being able to see your food.

However, it doesn't come without a price; The lids are only oven safe to 400 degrees, and should not be used for outdoor cooking.

Always remember, when making up for a negative of cast iron, you're also taking away a positive.

Being able to see my food would be nice, but I like the "self basting spikes" on my cast iron lids.

Not to mention they're a LOT harder to break than even tempered glass!
