The cast iron braiser

This is an enameled cast iron braiser, by Tramontina, $59.

It's "the perfect vessel for slow cooking soups and stews, braising meats, baking, and even frying."

One consumer reported that this "braiser" doubles as a skillet. I'm sure it does, because it IS a skillet!

Technically there are no "braisers" sold in regular cast iron. But, there are 12 inch skillets with lids sold in regular cast iron!

Another consumer reported that it can be used as a wok. Yes, I'm sure it makes chinese dishes just fine, although Lodge has a great cast iron wok.

I agree that this product does exactly what it claims to do. But, the Lodge 12 inch skillet with lid will do the exact same thing, for less money.

So, if you have a cast iron skillet with lid, you have a cast iron braiser.
