And we'll all have chicken and dumpling when she comes...

How about a classic cast iron recipe: Chicken and Dumplings!

Make dumpling or biscuit dough out of Bisquick, according to the directions on the box. Set aside.

Cut up breast meat and brown in olive oil before adding the veggies. 


Cut up onions, celery and carrots. Put in a cast iron pot.  Saute.

Add chicken broth. Bring to a boil.

Reduce heat, add some bisquick to the pot, stir, cover, and simmer.

Add poultry seasoning, onion powder, garlic powder, black pepper.

Spoon the dumpling batter into the pot. Cover and let the dumplings "bake" in the pot.
