An unusual use for cast iron

Tonight I made tuna steaks, which I cooked on the BBQ grill, instead of a cast iron grill pan.

But my husband likes his grilled food extra charred. So after the meat is grilled, he puts it on a cast iron skillet and blackens it with a propane torch.

Kind of an unusual use for a cast iron skillet, but it does work for that purpose...
