I've made chicken and dumplings in the past.
The last time I made it, it was OK but I knew there had to be a better way to make it.
Here's what I did this time, and it turned out perfect:
Cut up some onions and celery. I wanted to add carrots, but I didn't this time.
Cut up raw chicken breast into pieces.
Put them all into a pot and cover with chicken broth. Add minced garlic, black pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, and poultry seasoning.
Bring to a boil. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer until the chicken is cooked and the veggies are cooked down.
Remove the meat and veggies from the liquid temporarily.
Take some defrosted frozen biscuits (or make your own biscuit dough out of bisquick).
Cut them up into small pieces, coat them with flour, and drop into the hot liquid. Again, bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover, and simmer until the "dumplings" are cooked.
Add the meat and vegetables back to the pot.
Add one can cream of chicken soup, and one can cream of celery soup.
Stir the pot and serve.
This was the perfect recipe. I finally mastered chicken and dumplings!
